So I finally saw GOTG last night and I really liked it but here’s my two cents.
What I liked
- Great Soundtrack!! Seriously the best part of the movie
- Great way to induce the cosmic side of the Universe
- Dave Batista and Vin Diesel stole the show
- I love Zoe Saldana kicking ass!
- Karen Gillan was good in her relatively minor role
- Great costumes!!!
- Good Balance of humor and action (probably the best Marvel has done of that front)
- Kree Stuff! Maybe that means Kevin Feige will get around to that Captain Marvel movie he’s been talking out his ass about!
I think it struggled in a lot of ways the other Marvel movies have
- Weak villains!
- Dragged a bit a the end
- Predictable
- I don’t know how well it will hold over to multiple viewings
I also do not like the fact that Gamora was called a whore (it was completely unnecessary) and the post-credits scene was extremely underwhelming.
I give it a mid “B”
